    I grew up in Browns Valley, MN, and attended K-8th grade here. I then went to Sisseton High School. After graduating I attended the Minnesota State University of Moorhead where I majored in Elementary Inclusive Education and minored in Special Education. While in college I enjoyed playing rugby. After graduating I accepted my first teaching job in Sisseton, SD. I taught 5th grade there for two years. In 2016 I was hired at the Browns Valley School and became the 4th-grade teacher for a year before moving up to the middle school to teach 5th and 6th graders. This is my 9th year of teaching. I will be teaching 5th grade homeroom and also 4th grade math! I am also working on completing my Masters in Curriculum & Instruction online. I am learning every day and hope to create a classroom environment that is safe and welcoming for all students.

    My husband's name is Andy Raw and he is the Director of Environmental Services at the Browns Valley Health Center. We have a beautiful four-year-old daughter, Deandra, and a one-and-half-year-old little boy, Wesley! We also have two dogs, Piper and Penny, one cat, Ginger, and 7 horses. We enjoy watching movies, going to the lake, and spending time with our families.

    My mom, Laurie, taught at the Browns Valley School for 39 years before retiring in 2015. She now watches my kids during the day while I am at work. My dad, David, passed away at the beginning of August. My oldest brother, Tyler, is the Roberts County Sheriff and lives in Sisseton, SD. He and his wife Brittany have 2 sons, Eli and Kai, who I love getting to spend time with. My older sister, Brittany, is married and works at a bank in Eureka, SD. She and her husband Jeremy have 3 kids, Jerimany, Harlow, and Harper, and they enjoy working on their family cattle farm. I have two younger siblings. Kylee works at the Roberts County Sheriff's Office doing office work. Devan is attending LATI in Watertown, SD and is enrolled in the law enforcement program. 

                                           

     

    The picture on the top is my family and the picture on the bottom is my husband's family. His mom is the CEO of St. Francis Health Services and his dad is retired. His sister, Liz, lives in Minneapolis with her family. We love getting to spend time with our nephews, Harvey, Cohen, and Julian when they come to visit.
