About the Teacher

  • Hello! I am the new 3rd Grade Teacher at Browns Valley!

Welcome to your child’s new classroom! I am so excited to have them! In this letter you will learn a little about me and what my classroom will be like!

This will not only be my first year at Brown’s Valley, but will also be my first year as a teacher. I feel so lucky to get to begin my career as a Thunderbird with your 3rd grader. I grew up in Henning, Minnesota where I spent lots of time at the lakes and playing sports. Following graduation, I attended the University of Minnesota, Morris and then eventually would go to Minnesota State University- Moorhead to complete my degree in Elementary Education. Now I spend much of my time with my family and my dog, Molly!

In my classroom I will not only work to make sure your child is getting their academic needs met, but also will work alongside them to grow in their social/emotional education & personal responsibility (something they have had to use quite frequently with distance learning).  I use a classroom model that will help students learn to be responsible and independent. This year we will work as a team to set goals and class expectations while we work to reach our highest potential! I am also a firm believer in pushing students to be compassionate and kind to those around them while working together in a classroom.

The first two weeks of school will focus on learning the new school procedures put into place to keep your child as safe as possible, learning classroom procedures, and making connections with peers as well as their new teacher. Your child will soon find out that I will be one of their biggest supporters while pushing them to be the best student and person they can be!

I have a very open communication policy. If you at any time have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me (I check this a few times every day)  or send a note with your student! I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child!
